SCL Hudson Prize 2016 prizewinners announced

The Judging Panel of the SCL Hudson Prize has announced the following results for the 2016 competition:

First Prize: "Quiet Enjoyment; Revisited: A Landlord's Liability to a Tenant for Disruption Caused by Construction' by Philip Britton, Visiting Professor, King's College London, Senior Fellow, Melbourne Law School.

Joint Second Prize: 'The Best Laid Schemes of TECBAR and TeCSA: Potential Problems Under New Pre-Action Protocol' by James Frampton, Pupil Barrister, Keating Chambers.

Joint Second Prize: 'A Mad Tea Party: The Role of Clarity and Common Sense in the Interpretation of Construction Contracts' by Jon-Selous Borlace, Pupil Barrister at Atkin Chambers.

Highly Commended: 'The Ground Risk and Geotechnical Baseline Reports' by Eugenio Zoppis, Project Manager, Salini-Impregilo, Italy.

Highly Commended: 'Security of Payment and Justice: Can a Better Balance Be Achieved?' by Tariq Smalling-West, Commercial Manager, Sir Robert McAlpine.

Commended: 'Global Claim - Global Confusion?' by Andrew Archer, Barrister of the Victorian Bar, Melbourne.

Commended: 'BACKCHARGES' by Reece Allen, Principal, Project legal, Brisbane, Australia.
