SCL Hudson Prize 2019 prizewinners announced

The Judging Panel of the SCL Hudson Prize has announced the following results for the 2019 competition:

Joint First Prize: 'Triple Point Technologies - pointing to confusion' by Anson Cheung, Pupil Barrister, Atkin Chambers.

Joint First Prize: 'An employer's (dis)entitlement to liquidated damages for delay where the contractor never completes: defending ‘orthodoxy'' by Serena Lee, Associate, Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan, LLP.

Second Prize: 'A Ticket to the South of France or Rough Justice? Construing Ambiguity in Manchikalapati v Zurich Insurance' by John Steel, Pupil Barrister, Keating Chambers.

Highly Commended: 'Controlling Contractual Discretions: The Limits Placed on Discretionary Powers in Construction Contract' by Paul Tamburro, Lawyer, King & Wood Mallesons, Melbourne, Australia.

Commended: '2020 Vision: Laying The Tracks For The Next Stage of Residential Construction Law Reform' by Dr Matthew Bell, Senior Lecturer in Law, University of Melbourne, Australia.

Commended: 'Let's Get Metaphysical: Mitigating the Credibility Crisis In Forensic Delay Analysis' by Anders Axelson, Civil Engineer, Pezala Consulting, Melbourne, Australia.

Commended: 'Teams of rivals? how English construction law forces contracting parties to work together' by David Sawtell, Barrister, 39 Essex Chambers.
