Paper number
112

His Honour Judge Humphrey LLoyd QC

A paper based on a talk given to the Society of Construction Law and
the Technology and Construction Court Bar Association in London on 10th
December 2002.

The author, who became a member of the Architects' egistration
Board about 18 months ago, explains what the Board does; he looks at its
composition; its statutory responsibilities (principally the regulation
of the name and title 'architect'); and the ways in which
an architect may be registered as such, including the criteria for qualification.
The paper goes on to consider the standards of conduct and practice set
out in the Architect's Code, the professional indemnity insurance
requirements, and the investigation of complaints against architects.
