Thames Water's Procurement Strategy

A paper based on a talk given to a meeting of the Society of Construction
Law in London on 4th December 2000.

The author outlines the changes and developments in Thames Water's
procurement of engineering and construction works from the time when Thames
Water Authority first moved from the traditional price-based forms of
contract. He highlights the post-privatisation pressures on a regulated
business and the response to these pressures in the context of major capital
investments works, through various stages of partnering to the current
alliancing programmes.
